Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 representation for individuals and families seeking a measured path out from under unmanageable debt. Honest assessment of options, careful filings, and steady guidance through the trustee process.
Over eight years as an appellate attorney, I briefed and argued hundreds of cases before the Ohio courts of appeals, the Ohio Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit — which means I understand how criminal cases are won and lost at every stage, not just at the podium. That appellate foundation shapes how I build a defense from day one. Whether you are facing a misdemeanor or a serious felony, I come prepared, I communicate directly, and I fight hard for the best outcome the facts allow.
I spent years on the bench as a Juvenile Court Magistrate — which means I know exactly how these cases move, what the court is weighing, and where the real opportunities for a young person lie. That experience is an advantage I put to work for my clients. A delinquency adjudication can follow a child for a long time. I take that seriously, and I work to protect both the record and the future.
Divorce, dissolution, custody, support, and post-decree matters — handled with the patience these cases require and the candor they deserve.
Drafting, negotiating, and plain-language review of agreements before they get signed — not after they go sideways.
I opened this practice because I believe most clients are looking for the same thing: a lawyer who will actually pick up the phone, explain things in language that doesn't require a translator, and do the work carefully the first time.
Before going solo, I served as a juvenile magistrate in Central Ohio — work that taught me how decisions really get made, where preparation tends to win the day, and how much the people on the other side of the bench are looking for a fair hearing and a straight answer. I bring the same approach to every matter, large or small.
Outside the office, I'm a Columbus resident, a proud father of three, a Buckeye, and a longtime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. I intentionally maintain a selective caseload to ensure each matter receives the focus, strategy, and attention it warrants.
My father was born in Castries, St. Lucia, and left home as a boy to find work in Guyana. He came to this country in the 1960s with a third-grade education, met my mother, and built a life — and eventually a moderately successful demolition and excavation business — from the ground up. I spent summers helping him prepare bids and work the jobs.
He was the hardest-working man I have ever known, and he wanted nothing more than for his children not to have to work as hard as he did. No one was prouder to see me graduate from law school than he was.
His fearlessness and his work ethic are at the heart of what I bring to this practice. The firm carries his name because so much of what I do is shaped by him.
